Restorations (Fillings) & Sealants
Restorations (Fillings)
Tooth decay is a common issue for many children. If your child has a cavity, our team is here to provide gentle and effective restoration treatment to restore their tooth to its natural form and function.
During the restoration process, we’ll first numb the area around the tooth with a local anesthetic to ensure your child is comfortable and pain-free. Next, we’ll gently remove the decayed part of the tooth and clean the area thoroughly. Once the tooth is cleaned and prepped, we’ll fill the cavity with a durable filling material.
Our team uses only the highest quality and safest materials to ensure your child’s dental restoration is long-lasting and effective. We also take the time to educate your child on how to maintain good oral hygiene habits and prevent future cavities.
If you suspect your child may have a cavity or need a dental restoration, don’t hesitate to contact us and schedule an appointment. Our experienced and friendly team is here to provide the highest quality dental care to kids of all ages.
Sealants
Sealants are a highly effective preventive measure to keep your child’s teeth healthy and cavity-free. At Dr. Robert Riesenberger’s Pediatric Dentist Office, we often recommend sealants for children as soon as their permanent molars come in, usually around age 6.
Sealants are a thin, protective coating that is painted onto the chewing surfaces of your child’s back teeth, which are the most susceptible to cavities. The sealant material flows into the grooves and crevices of the teeth, creating a barrier between the tooth surface and harmful bacteria that can cause decay.
Applying sealants is a quick and painless procedure that can be completed in just one visit. The teeth are thoroughly cleaned and dried before the sealant material is applied. We then use a special light to harden the sealant, creating a strong, durable shield that can last up to 10 years.
Sealants are an important part of your child’s oral health care routine, as they can help prevent cavities and save you time and money in the long run. They are especially beneficial for children who are at a higher risk of developing cavities, such as those with deep grooves in their teeth, a history of cavities, or difficulty maintaining good oral hygiene habits.
At our office, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality preventive care for your child. If you are interested in learning more about sealants and how they can benefit your child’s oral health, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
Laser Treatments
We offer the latest in dental technology with our laser treatment services. Laser treatments are a safe and effective way to treat a variety of dental problems without the need for traditional drills or needles.
Our advanced laser technology allows us to perform procedures such as frenectomies, which help to correct tongue and lip ties that can cause speech and feeding issues in young children. We also use lasers to remove excess gum tissue and to treat gum disease.
Laser treatments are minimally invasive and can often be completed in just one appointment, with little to no discomfort for your child. They also promote faster healing and have fewer side effects compared to traditional treatments.
Our experienced and friendly dental team will work closely with you and your child to determine if laser treatments are the best option for their unique dental needs. We strive to provide the highest quality of care and the most comfortable and efficient treatment options available.
